Phase 2: In-residence detoxification and stabilization
If your teen has an addiction problem, he or she will enter phase two of treatment, during which time Teensavers will monitor the detoxification process under the supervision of an ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) physician. That is the highest credential awarded to any physician who specializes in addiction and recovery.
To ease the process, the physician may utilize medications developed to eliminate cravings for certain substances, reduce pain and dramatically shorten the detoxification period. The detoxification process averages three to five days. Once your teen completes this phase and is stabilized, he or she will enter phase three of the personalized treatment plan.
